All West Communications and Utah Broadband Center Celebrate High-Speed Broadband Expansion in Rural Utah.

KAMAS, Utah | January 7, 2025 – All West Communications is proud to announce the completion of the Croydon, UT Broadband Project, a collaborative effort with the Utah Broadband Center (UBC), part of the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. This milestone marks a significant step forward in expanding access to high-speed internet in rural and underserviced communities. To celebrate this achievement, a special fiber optic “ribbon-splicing” was held in Croydon at Holcim Devils Slide Cement Plant on December 5, 2024. State officials, local leaders and community members joined All West Communications and the UBC to recognize the impact of this project.

The Croydon Broadband Project brings fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure to more than 50 homes and businesses in Morgan County. This project includes four miles of mainline fiber, seamlessly integrated with All West’s existing network, to deliver up to 1 Gig symmetrical internet speeds. By addressing connectivity gaps, this project empowers a previously underserviced rural community with the tools needed to thrive in today’s digital landscape.

“At All West Communications, we are committed to bridging the digital divide in rural Utah,” said Matt Weller, CEO at All West Communications. “The Croydon Broadband Project demonstrates the power of public-private partnerships to create opportunities for economic growth, enhanced education and an improved quality of life for local residents.”

The project is a testament to Utah’s forward-thinking approach to broadband infrastructure. The FTTP system ensures reliability and the capacity to meet future internet demands for years to come. “I have high-speed, reliable internet which allows my kids to participate in online school and me to continue working remotely,” stated Mike Newton, Morgan County Commissioner and All West customer. “We stay better connected to our friends and family across the globe, operate our small businesses, and even stream TV and movies – some days all at the same time.”

All West Communications worked closely with Morgan County and the Utah Broadband Center to identify the unique needs of the area and tailor the project to meet them effectively. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of delivering solutions that create lasting benefits for communities.

Funding for the Croydon Broadband Project was made possible through the Utah Broadband Access Grant, providing $15 million from the U.S. Treasury’s Federal Capital Projects Fund. This initiative is part of Utah’s larger strategy to expand internet access statewide, ensuring that all communities can connect to the opportunities of the digital age. All West Communications is honored to be part of this transformative project and remains dedicated to providing innovative connectivity solutions across Utah and Wyoming.
